Module content | Includes fungal, bacterial and viral interactions. Focuses on molecular and cellular events occurring during recognition, during fungal evasion of the host's defence mechanisms and during disease symptom development. Topics discussed will also include cell biology of interactions, systemic acquired resistance and the role of pathogenesis related proteins and toxins in pathogenesis. Basic aspects of plant disease epidemiological theory and concepts. Introduction to equipment and techniques used in epidemiological research as well as practical applications of epidemiology in plant disease management. |
